Balance and harmony through an emotional portrait of Eve Dumon

“The idea isn't to have an ‘Instagrammable' routine, but to start the day with things that make me feel good, both physically and mentally.”

Eve Dumon, Neuraé brand ambassador, psychomotor therapist, yoga teacher and model.

Fascinated by the connection between body and mind, Eve Dumon shares motivational posts and wellness tips with her Instagram community every day.

What is her goal? To live to the age of 120 in good health! She shares her top tips with Neuraé on strengthening your mental resilience and finally making time for yourself.

When was the last moment you had to yourself?

Every morning, I set aside a little time for myself. It helps me start the day on a positive note, keep a clear head and take full control of my life, rather than constantly chasing after emails and to-do lists.

According to my diary, it could take five minutes or a little longer. It might involve a few stretches, some yoga, a mindful shower with music playing, reading a few pages, writing, or simply having the pleasure of savouring a coffee in peace and quiet... I'd recommend this routine to all women with busy lives! Sometimes, all it takes is a few minutes of truly being present with yourself to recharge.

What beauty routine makes you feel your best?

I've been using the harmonie range for nearly six months now, and I can see that my skin really does look much better! My skin feels well-nourished and hydrated; I've noticed that I have less redness and that my features look more relaxed.

Even the make-up artists I work with regularly on photo shoots have told me they could see a real difference!

What music helps you relax?

‘Master Blaster' by Stevie Wonder is a good one, or ‘Move on Up' by The Dynamics, and pretty much all of Morcheeba's songs.

Who inspires you?

My partner, and more generally, people who believe in their dreams and have the courage to take action to make them come true.

Where do you go to recharge your batteries?

Bali! I'm starting to get to know the island quite well and I've found some hidden gems there. I've looked for other places around the world that have the same effect on me, but Bali really does have something unique about it.

Otherwise, anywhere in the great outdoors: the forest, the mountains – though I prefer the sea. I find that you feel so alive when you're playing in the waves! I also try to make my home a place that is both restorative and inspiring.

What's your secret to finding balance?

I've got four!

Learn to prioritise. You can't do everything. I used to wear myself out trying to be everywhere. Now, I focus on what really matters.

Identify my ‘non-negotiables' and stick to them. For example: getting some exercise every day, or sticking to my famous morning routine, even if it's only for 5 minutes. It also means never forcing myself to do anything that goes against my values, regardless of social or financial pressure.

Trust in myself, but also in life. Even when things don't go to plan, it gives me a huge amount of strength.

Surround myself with good people. It's a small circle but very high-quality.

What's your ritual for grounding yourself?

My phone on airplane mode, a good playlist, a run or a yoga session followed by a nice shower. Then, I'll list at least 10 things that make me feel deeply just how wonderful life is. And to round things off, a dinner with my partner or with my best friends.

I also feel the ‘well-being' effect of the harmonie range in my evening routine. My brain has linked the scents and textures to: "the evening - it's time to let go of tension, look after myself, and I feel better straight away!"
